An app designed for Mixer Design Group, to work with a client’s proprietary hot food vending machine. The app used extensive competitor & UX research, and a bespoke workflow to overcome significant challenges inherent to the machine’s functionality. Designed to work in-tandem with a point-of-sale interface, using the client’s colors & fonts. For iOS and Android.
An in-house app built from the ground-up, designed to give technicians on the ground the flexibility and data needed to interface with both customers and dispatchers remotely. All wireframes and prototypes created using Figma.
A total overhaul of BSM’s fleet management dashboard software. The design had to accommodate real-time & historical traffic and weather data, driver information and vehicle statistics, locally, regionally and nationally. All of this data had to be intuitive, legible and visually clear. Each widget was designed to be movable and editable.
This was a collaborative effort of the entire BSM Design team, made using Figma for wireframing and prototyping.
Designed for Government Clients, SMART replicated Twitter’s API, to train users for social media management and emergencies.
I designed the entire creative and trainer interface from scratch, which allowed users to create fictional social media accounts for large-scale simulations. Those accounts could be given custom clout & followers, write fictional media content, and had the ability to share or re-post that content. Posts could be assigned stats to determine how likely they were to go viral.
The design was strongly inspired by Twitter and Facebook, to make content creation intuitive, no matter how complex the training scenario or how skilled the user.
Victor Stanley manufactures steel street furniture for cities and construction-industry clients around the world. They are a major player in an intensely competitive niche market, and a domestic manufacturer in an age of outsourcing. Though not employed as a designer, this role created a firm, data-driven foundation for my design sensibilities.
I spent my time at Victor Stanley focused on market and product research: the forecasts and analysis I created helped the company navigate the 2008 recession and even grow during the downturn. I also worked concurrently as a traveling, customer-facing salesperson, giving me the chance to validate my research on the ground, in real-time.
Whether it was the creation of a nationwide marketing reporting system from the ground up, ad copy, competitor data or research into product requirements, this role laid the groundwork for my career, and my ethics as a professional.
